[SatNews] Trends in the satellite content delivery will be presented during these events by Company experts...
Expert speakers from satellite communications company Newtec will present the latest on migration to satellite-based IP delivery platforms at BroadcastAsia 2011 and discuss broadband driven trends at CommunicAsia 2011. During the presentation to industry leaders at BroadcastAsia, Newtec Product Marketing Director, Koen Willems, is set to announce increased interest across Asia in broadcasting solutions which utilise IP connectivity. “In order to reach a greater audience and increase advertising revenues, broadcasters need to differentiate. Offering extra services over multiple platforms like Internet, VOD, IPTV and DTT extends the broadcasters’ reach. At the same time broadcasters need to lower the operational costs and maximise margins,” said Mr. Willems. “By implementing IP in their platforms, broadcasters can streamline their workflows and respond to these new market requirements whilst reducing operational cost. These new IP-based collaborative architectures allow rapid transfer and sharing of content among users. In Asia, broadcasters are switching on to the importance of migrating to get the greatest benefits,” he said.
BroadcastAsia is a comprehensive one-stop digital multimedia and entertainment technology event in Asia, while CommunicAsia, its longer established sister event, is the largest ICT based knowledge platform on the continent. At CommunicAsia, Newtec’s VP of Asia, Anver Anderson, will also be participating in an executive panel discussion relating to the latest broadband driven trends. “Broadband via satellite is the major way of connecting communities in regions where terrestrial infrastructure is still being or yet to be implemented. This is particularly relevant in Asia where economies and infrastructure are growing rapidly and communities require connectivity via satellite,” said Anderson.
Newtec will be exhibiting its satellite based IP delivery platform and broadband via satellite solutions on booth 1W2-01 at CommunicAsia.
