Tampa Microwave has launched the Company's new military standard manpack satellite terminal technologies, designed for Special Forces operations. Tampa Microwave introduced its new TM-X850MP X-band manpack satellite terminal and attached TM-ODM-850 outdoor modem module systems. The release of the X850MP and ODM-850 is a move by the company to expand into the very small aperture terminal (VSAT) defense market. Company officials indicated the military standard technologies, designed for use by special operations forces, are part of an effort to provide on-the-move soldiers with X-band satellite communications technologies in potentially hostile situations.
