[SatNews] Ramping up with new products at Africa Cast 2011...

For Africa Cast 2011, Bridge Technologies will display the first complete monitoring solution for DVB-T2-MI. DVB-T2 is the system used in 70 percent of the contribution infrastructure currently under construction, and in many recent deployments in the EMEA region. DVB-T2 is already in use by operators in Europe, chosen for its outstanding characteristics in single frequency networks, and for the 30 percent bandwidth efficiency gain of DVB-T2 over DVB-T. Bridge Technologies has solved the complex monitoring challenge posed by the DVB-T2-MI format, and T2-MI monitoring is now available as an option across the range of VideoBRIDGE probes.

VB252 — NEW! The new VB252 is the monitoring probe for DVB-T2 networks, and part of the industry's first complete monitoring solution for DVB-T2 including the T2-MI protocol. The dual-input VB252 provides external GPS lock for accurate drift monitoring for SFN networks, high-quality MER measurement and level readings. For monitoring at transmitter sites and field locations for quality validation, the VB252 is available from Q4 2011.

PROTOCOL TRAFFIC ANALYSIS — NEW! The new Traffic Analysis option provides in-depth advanced monitoring and analysis of IP protocols and services across the complete range of VideoBRIDGE probes. With the Traffic Analysis option, operators can combine detailed monitoring and analytics of broadcast/IP streams and all OTT services under a single unified VideoBRIDGE environment with consistent display and reporting features. The Traffic Analysis option provides even more comprehensive capabilities to the end-to-end VideoBRIDGE digital media monitoring ecosystem.

ADVANCED GRAPHICS FOR VBC — NEW! Bridge Technologies' new graphics option for the VBC extends the VideoBRIDGE system's outstanding clarity of data presentation with a comprehensive new display engine for completely diagrammatic status displays using any design the user creates. Taking graphic objects from vector graphics programs such as Microsoft Visio, the graphics option allows users to quickly build diagrammatic displays that update with live data from the VideoBRIDGE VBC controller server. Easy to use without specialist graphics skills, the graphics option lets operators design any kind of representation they choose — such as an overview of physical network devices, or a geographical map of service delivery — and have the VBC drive real-time color-coded modification of the graphics to indicate status. Live diagrammatic displays driven by the graphics option offer monitoring staff a far more intelligible status view than screens of statistical data.

microVB™ Advanced Data Gathering — NEW! The breakthrough VideoBRIDGE microVB™ — the first viable solution for deep packet remote analysis at the set-top box — now has complete data-gathering capabilities, allowing operators to capture any packet that passes through the unit and to forward those packets filtered into third party protocol analysis software. The microVB's new advanced data gathering function gives media service providers and telcos unique 24/7 real-time analysis and low-level analytics capability, allowing unprecedented accuracy in fault resolution of any condition at the subscriber premises, and previously unavailable insight into how factors such as packet loss levels affect real-world service quality.
