WORK Microwave's Satellite Communication Technologies division will showcase its analog and digital product lines developed for use by both commercial and military customers operating ground stations, satellite Earth stations, or other mobile applications. Headquartered in Holzkirchen, Germany, WORK Microwave designs and develops equipment to MIL standards, providing military customers with an extremely reliable product portfolio.
Key Products at Show
A sample of WORK Microwave's industrialized, lightweight, and tamper-proof equipment, designed for remote and harsh environments, will be on display at Global MilSatCom.
Digital offerings such as the DVB-S2 Modem SK-IP will be highlighted. WORK Microwave's portfolio of modems, modulators, and demodulators offer technologically advanced solutions based on a 27-year history of sophisticated RF design and signal processing development. Complete implementation of DVB-S2 standards — including features such as multistream, adaptive coding and modulation for highest bandwidth efficiency, generic stream encapsulation, and the higher modulation schemes 16APSK and 32APSK — make the products ideal for optimizing satellite communications for ground stations and portable applications.
Analog products that include the IF Up/Down Frequency Converter will also be demo'd at the show. Based on WORK Microwave's established expertise in this field, the fifth-generation frequency converter series covers frequency bands S, C, X, Ku, K, Ka, and Q, and is available as single, dual, or triple-band converters, as well as dual-channel converters.
All converters from WORK Microwave feature low phase noise, guaranteeing excellent signal quality, while low spurious emissions enable them to be used in demanding environments, such as high-power video uplinks. Additionally, they have the benefit of low power consumption due to state-of-the-art power supply technology and sophisticated circuit design, leading to greater reliability and a longer life. Users of these converters also benefit from a modular architecture, permitting highly optimized designs for specific requirements (e.g., frequency range, output power, and conversion gain).
A Selection of RF and Microwave Modules up to 40GHz Using its expertise in sophisticated RF and microwave technology, WORK Microwave is able to design and produce a wide range of microwave modules to meet the needs of demanding defense and research applications, including radar transponders, ECM equipment, RF selectors, and medium-power amplifiers and drivers up to 200 watts.
WORK Microwave's full range of high-performance advanced satellite communications equipment has been ruggedized and weather-proofed to withstand extended temperature variations, and to cope with the world's most extreme environments. All WORK Microwave devices provide secure and reliable connectivity in compliance with military grade security and fully support custom-generated specifications. Furthermore, the company meets the challenges associated with critical military grade satellite communications equipment, including the altitude and acceleration demands associated with aircraft, the resistance to vibration demanded by land vehicles such as tanks, and the need to protect against sea salt corrosion required by marine craft.
With a comprehensive product portfolio, WORK Microwave has built a global reputation for optimizing data transport and improving satellite signal quality — in all environments — for both commercial and military customers.
