Blue Sky Network has announced the Peruvian Air Force (FAP) will be using the Company’s GPS-based aviation tracking devices for its search and rescue (SAR) operations. Aboard the FAP’s aircraft are Blue Sky Network’s D2000 flyaway kits. These waterproof, rugged tracking devices provide the fleet with continuous satellite communications and offer unparalleled safety features.

Due to its ultra-portable design, the D2000 allows for flawless unit exchange between fleets, and safety features include a mayday button and short code and text messaging. Blue Sky Network’s GPS tracking devices operate from Iridium, ensuring that the FAP’s fleet will be in communication anywhere in Peru or throughout the world. Additionally, the kits feature a battery life of up to 12 hours, allowing for extended monitoring and communication between on-flight personnel and ground control.
