Harris... Medical Teamwork (Comms)


[SatNews] Harris Corporation (NYSE: HRS) has been awarded a $10.6 million, one-year contract by the U.S. Information Systems Engineering Command to upgrade the communications and IT networks at 23 U.S. Army Medical Treatment facilities.

The U.S. Information Systems Engineering Command is responsible for network upgrades to the military health system facilities that utilize the most current technology. Harris will provide IT wired and wireless network modernization support, delivering a robust network with the connectivity, reliability, data integrity, and information security medical professionals need to provide high quality care at the 23 treatment sites. Harris also has been awarded several network upgrade contracts by the U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard and the U.S. Medical Information Technology Center. The Harris team includes subcontractor Federal Resources Corporation (FRC). This contract was awarded under the nine-year, $20 billion Information Technology Enterprise Solutions- 2 Services (ITES-2S) contract vehicle, which is the preferred method of contracting for services and supplies for the Army.
