Nigeria Targeted For SkyVision Combi Service From SkyVision

SkyVision is committing a 2 billion NGN investment in Nigeria and welcomes the first ten new customers who are now completing the installation of their SkyVision Combi platform, scheduled to deliver service before year-end. SkyVision Combi will be mainly using the AfricaSat-1 satellite. SkyVision Combi was launched in June 2008 and is already delivering service to General Data & Engineering, its first customer in Nigeria. More than 10 new customers are currently completing their SkyVision Combi installation. The service is designed, first and foremost, to deliver high-capacity Internet access that's readily accessible to new customers. This universal offering will bring cost-effective broadband Internet connectivity to the entire country. The service uses high-quality satellite C-band service with advanced DVB S2 technology for optimal performance, immune to the difficulties presented by the heavy-rain environment in Nigeria. This low-cost solution is available with no start up fee and will meet the growing demand for broadband access and nexgen applications.
