[SatNews] Numerex Corp (Nasdaq: NMRX) has announced that FEMA had renewed its contract with the QinetiQ-led group, in which Numerex plays a critical role, to support FEMA's disaster operations.

Numerex will provide continuing managed services for the Asset Tracking System (ATS), which includes tracking of all FEMA owned and commercially owned trailers and equipment as they are moved to Incident Support Bases (ISB's) from FEMA Distribution Centers. The ATS provides near real time tracking of relief supplies as they are transferred into disaster areas. The ATS consists of Numerex's satellite asset tracking tag, airtime service and Numerex's Field Enhanced Logistics (FELIX) application. In addition, Numerex provides personnel for ongoing training, maintenance and readiness services during non-disaster times. During disaster operations, Numerex also provides personnel in support of surge operations in conjunction with another member of the QinetiQ team.
