Vizada, the leading provider of global satellite-based mobility services recently acquired by Astrium, will showcase some of its newest updates and innovations in communications solutions for crew and optimization of business data, at this year’s Asia Pacific Maritime show in Singapore (14-16March). Vizada will be available at booth G14, Hall H for the duration of the event.

During this international maritime show, several maritime business solutions will be showcased including the popular Global Maritime Broadband Bundles. The Bundles are the flexible and all-inclusive communications packages that combine VSAT, MSS and Vizada’s proprietary maritime communications platform, Vizada XChange. Since launching the bundles in June 2011, more than a 100 contracts have been signed, including with large shipping companies such as Scorpio Ship Management and CMA-CGM.

With the commercial success of Vizada XChange, the integrated solutions platform launched this year, Asia Pacific Maritime is an ideal opportunity to showcase its version 2 to customers in the Asia Pac region. The all-in-one solution platform that provides voice, VoIP, data and internet services through an easily installed multifunctional box and intuitive web interface will offer several new features to improve general user experience and cost efficiency. To meet the increasing demand for remote maintenance, the new version will offer shipping companies a user-friendly portal on shore to supervise communications or manage critical documents transfer to ships directly from the office on land.

Vizada XChange version 2 will also enable IT managers to remotely access their onboard infrastructure via a secure connection as well as giving captains a redesigned communications dashboard. Automatic connectivity switching will help detect the most cost-efficient means of communication to help further reduce connection costs. For crew communication solutions, Vizada will be highlighting Crew PC: a pre-configured onboard PC which connects to a satellite data terminal to provide instant plug-and-play access to data communications such as email, chat and Internet access.

The services run over a dedicated prepaid channel which keeps crew usage secure and separate from business communications on board. Crew members benefit from a solution to reduce prepaid costs while the shipping company can securely monitor and control usage. The solution has proved to be extremely popular in the Asia-Pac region since its launch in October 2011.
