Harris... Moving On Up...


Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS) has named Brad Turner to the newly created position of vice president of strategy and marketing for its Broadcast Communications business. Turner will report to Harris Morris, division president, and will be based in the division’s Denver office. Bringing 15 years experience in developing corporate and product strategy, improving profits and leading organizational change in a variety of industries, Turner will head Harris Broadcast’s newly formed strategy and marketing function. His team’s primary charter will be to develop integrated strategies, tactics and programs that generate demand for Harris products and solutions through various channels worldwide, and drive marketing activities that will help the division achieve growth objectives. Turner joins Harris from his previous role as operating director at Berkshire Partners, a Massachusetts-based private equity firm. In this position, Turner worked in various capacities with portfolio companies to develop strategy and drive operational improvement. He recently lead strategic planning for a large industrial staffing company and spearheaded the turnaround of another company’s commercial division, which resulted in significant sales growth. Prior to Berkshire Partners, Brad was a consultant and case team leader for Bain & Company, where he focused on growth strategies and increasing sales effectiveness.
