Orbit and Milano Teleport Send Sats to ISeaGlobal

Orbit Orbit Technology Group, a provider in the field of advanced mobile SatCom and tracking antenna systems for marine, air, train and other ground application, and Milano Teleport announce an additional order for Orbit's OrSat systems, worth in excess of $1.6 million. This is an add-on order to an original contract of $1.9 million. As a result of Orbit’s increasing sales in Italy, both companies have also signed a service agreement aimed at bolstering and streamlining on-location product support. According to this agreement, Milano Teleport will provide service and technical support as the Advanced Service Centre (ASC) of Orbit in Italy.

OrSat distinguishes itself with a sophisticated and innovative design that is simple to operate, with plug-and-play architecture and unmatched cost effectiveness. The system forms an active and integral part of Milano Teleport’s ISeaGlobal broadband marine communication platform. OrSat (AL-7103 MK II) is a Ku-band maritime stabilized antenna offering the largest gain possible for an antenna that is enclosed inside a 1.28 m radome. This efficient, service oriented, mature and proven system continues to build on its uniqueness and customer satisfaction record where hundreds have sold worldwide.

Orbit’s ASC will ensure the highest level of service and customer technical support to its clients. The new service center in Italy joins the growing network of service centers operated by Orbit worldwide and allows both Orbit and Milano Teleport to strengthen their market positions. The ASCs draw on the strong connections that Orbit maintains with partner companies and dealers located strategically in places such as the UK, Singapore and the U.S.

According to Pietro Guerrieri, Milano Teleport’s CEO, “Due to our growing success in the maritime market of merchant and cruise ships, and the successful cooperation with Orbit in the past, we have decided to leverage the use of Orbit’s maritime VSAT system”. Mr. Guerrieri goes on and saying, “Orbit’s system has proven to be well performing and highly reliable. Our new service allows marine vessels, while at sea, to rely on always-connected, broadband IP-links worldwide, with a convenient flat-rate billing system”.
