Globecomm Gets $4 Million And Gives US Government The Axx


[SatNews] Globecomm Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: GCOM) is on the receiving end of several US government agencies' contracts valued at $4 million. Under the terms set forth in the contract, Globecomm will supply its Network Management Software (NMS) product, AxxSys® Orion, and associated engineering support services. The AxxSys® Orion NMS will support the global operations of several large entry Earth stations as well as numerous smaller fixed and portable satellite systems. Globecomm is a worldwide provider of satellite-based communications infrastructure solutions and services.

AxxSys® Orion distributed architecture enables government personnel to manage each terminal asset from their desktop, thereby reducing ongoing maintenance and support costs. Several features of the AxxSys® Orion product are ideal for global network management. These include the low bandwidth demands of the AxxSys® Orion Multiprotocol Processors as well as centralized configuration management, enhanced security, and a powerful aggregation data model.
