Numerex' Sprints With M2M + Has An AT&T Moment

Numerex homepage Numerex Corp. (Nasdaq: NMRX), a single source provider of secure machine-to-machine (M2M) products and services, has announced a wholesale data agreement giving their customers access to an extended range of technological and market opportunities. Sprint will use its nationwide network coverage to provide wireless transport data services to Numerex.

This relationship builds on Sprint's recent formation of the Emerging Solutions business unit with a singular focus on accelerating the delivery of machine-to-machine (M2M) and mobile computing solutions to businesses and consumers. Leveraging its extensive experience in operating multiple platforms and assets, such as the Sprint 3G Mobile Broadband Network, this new strategic business unit will assess revenue opportunities, develop go-to-market plans and execute quickly, working closely with Sprint's customer-facing channels and partners, such as Numerex. With a proven solution for the design, certification, testing, and launch of new applications, customers will benefit with a fast and successful M2M implementation. Simplification of the application development and on-boarding processes are achieved via integrated offerings, Numerex DNA™ (Device, Network and Application), delivered through Numerex FAST™ (Foundation Application Software Technology). Numerex FAST, which is an Open Platform-as-a-Service-based framework, speeds up and smoothes out the M2M product launch. Numerex's customers are dealers, distributors, and other businesses, which serve the end-user market.

Additionally, Numerex received an extension from AT&T to provide turnkey services for M2M enterprise markets. This initiative expands the network and application technologies available for AT&T and Numerex customers and is aimed to speed M2M solutions to market while also delivering real-time network device management services.

Through this agreement, AT&T will provide Numerex with access to the AT&T Control Center, enabling further expansion of AT&T’s distribution in the M2M market. AT&T and Numerex customers that serve end-user markets, such as energy, healthcare and security companies, will benefit from synergies of these integrated services and the availability of more foundational components used for the design and development of most M2M solutions.
