Demonstrating its commitment to providing high-quality maritime satellite communications and entertainment solutions for mariners in the Asia-Pacific region, KVH Industries, Inc., (Nasdaq: KVHI) officially opened its new Asia-Pacific headquarters, KVH Industries Pte Ltd., in Singapore today. The new facility features a state-of-the-art demo and training lab where KVH partners and customers can observe the company’s TracPhone ® , TracVision ® , and CommBox ™ products in action, and examine possibilities for integrating shipboard applications with KVH’s mini-VSAT BroadbandSM network.

KVH’s Chief Executive Officer, Martin Kits van Heyningen, Senior Vice President - Global Sales and Business Development, Brent C. Bruun, and Vice President of Sales, Asia-Pacific, Vivian Quenet were on hand to welcome guests to KVH Singapore. “This region is critically important to maritime commerce around the globe, and we feel that it is important to have permanent staff and facilities here to ensure the best service for KVH customers and partners,” explained Mr. Kits van Heyningen. “KVH’s mini-VSAT Broadband satellite communications network and TracPhone, CommBox, and TracVision systems offer tremendous benefits to the ships, large and small, that operate in these waters. We look forward to serving mariners not just in Singapore, but throughout the Asia-Pacific region.”

KVH Industries Pte Ltd. will work in cooperation with partners throughout the region to bring KVH’s award-winning satellite communications and television products to mariners. These include the new TracVision HD11, the world’s first truly global maritime satellite TV system with full support for high-definition programming, as well as the global mini-VSAT Broadband satellite communications service and compatible 24" (60 cm) TracPhone V7 and 14.5" (39 cm) TracPhone V3 antennas, and the CommBox Ship/Shore Network Manager.

With more than 1,500 antennas shipped, mini-VSAT Broadband is the world’s fastest growing, most popular maritime VSAT solution. The network uses ArcLight ® spread spectrum technology, which was developed by KVH’s partner, ViaSat, Inc., (Nasdaq: VSAT) specifically for mobile use and previously available only for military applications. ArcLight is unique due to its efficient reuse of satellite channels, fast speed, low latency, and its ability to support very small antennas that provide reliable service, even in poor weather conditions.
