Telos Systems will be showing the new, smaller 2RU rackmount
Zephyr/IP and the rugged, road-ready portable version, the
Z/IP Mixer, at NAB in booth
N7620. The new 2RU studio rack-mount Zephyr/IP provides broadcasters with the same packed feature-set as its predecessor, in a smaller, more compact frame-size. The Zephyr/IP, or Z/IP, produces superior audio for two-way applications over uncontrolled IP networks and mobile phone data services by dynamically adapting to the network and minimizing the effects of packet loss and jitter. It combines dynamic buffering, auto-varying bitrate functions, and the new
AAC-ELD codec. AAC-ELD produces excellent fidelity at low bitrates with nearly inaudible loss concealment. The Z/IP Mixer combines the versatility of the Zephyr/IP with the utility of a digital four-channel stereo mixer, all in a rugged, road-ready portable chassis. All Z/IP models are wireless capable and can connect to IP networks via
Wi-Fi,
EVDO,and
UMTS. They’re
Livewire ready, and can even register and accept calls from compatible PBXs. The Company provides a free service to help users overcome troublesome firewalls and NATs, as well as easily connect to other Z/IPs.
