WORK Microwave will showcase the latest enhancements to its lines of satellite signal and data transmission solutions for ground station and portable applications. The new Ka-band frequency converters will be on display, along with feature updates to the DVB-S/S2 product range from WORK Microwave, and detailed information about the products will be available at the booth. The Company's key product and technology demos will include...

WORK Microwave will showcase — for the first time in Asia — its newest range of indoor and outdoor frequency converters that now support Ka-band up to 31 GHz. Ka-band, with its larger amount of available bandwidth, is becoming more and more attractive to satellite service providers as lower and more traditional frequency bands become increasingly congested. Keeping this in mind, WORK Microwave's latest Ka-band converters have been developed for use in satellite ground stations as well as in SNG vehicles, fly-aways, and other portable applications. Further, users benefit from the modular architecture that allows for specific designs for specific requirements such as frequency range, optional spectrum inversion, and conversion gain.

WORK Microwave is a member of the DVB Project consortium, contributing to the development and review of worldwide standards in digital video broadcasting. At CommunicAsia2011, WORK Microwave will showcase the company's full line of DVB-S/S2 products, including IP-modems, modulators, and demodulators. On display will be WORK's DVB-S2 IP-modem SK-IP, their first satellite modem with an IP interface for Ethernet and IP data transfer. The device is built to the DVB-S2 standard (EN 302 307) and marks another significant technological advancement in satellite communication technologies from WORK Microwave. Built with the most up-to-date technologies, the new modem offers three key features:
low overhead generic stream encapsulation according to the DVB specification, new powerful multichannel OptiACM system, and a data rate of up to 160Mbit/s

Also to be showcased is the company's DVB-S/S2 modulator with optional multistream input (up to 8), 50-180MHz, and/or L-band output (950-2150MHz), ideal for fixed satellite ground stations as well as for SNG vehicles, fly-aways, or any other mobile or portable applications. The product supports DVB-S2 transmissions in variable coding and modulation (VCM) mode to ensure the highest transmission throughput at all times. An optional multichannel BISS encryption module is also available.

The company's two high-speed DVB-S/S2 demodulators will also be at the booth. The SDD3-IP demodulator for IP/Ethernet data reception is the companion device to the DVB-S2 IP-modem and can provide adaptive or variable forward error correction and modulation settings for point-to-point or point-to-multipoint applications due to WORK Microwave's integrated OptiACM controller. The SDD3 demodulator supports DVB-S and DVB-S2 signals and is ideal for receiving digital video contribution or distribution signals as MPEG transport streams. In addition to the standard CCM streams, the SDD3 also supports VCM and ACM using a baseband frame output. Both the demodulators are available in a handy 19-inch, 1RU compact size.
