Sidsa and Secuenzia Plan For DTT in Spain

Sidsa Together Sidsa and Secuenzia developed a technology solution for a pay digital terrestrial television (DTT) service in Spain to be completed hopefully this year. It will provide new content that is attractive and of high quality. Their project resulted in a conditional access technology solution that will allow broadcasters to distribute DTT content while offering a new business model based on extra revenues made outside of advertising sales. The companies report that the model relies on pay-per-subscription or per-events systems.  Conditional Access will distribute such content and offer a new business model for television, with advertising revenue to pay by subscription or events.

DTT Receiver "Together, we have to offer higher-value technology to ensure the success of DTT pay," said Fernando Ruano, President of Secuenzia.

Conditional Access systems of both companies have been optimized for digital terrestrial television and allow the use of any business model: subscription, pay per view, pay per event, and so on. Sidsa’s has had a similar KeyFly system that has been widely relayed in similar horizontal markets as Al Jazeera Sport in the Middle East and North of Africa

"We are very proud to have renewed the contract over 10 years with Aljazeera Sport," said Jose Maria Insenser, CEO and founder of SIDSA. "It is the achievement of a serious and well done in this difficult and competitive world of Conditional Access."
