[SatNews] A new vice president and general manager has been named to EMS Technologies' Defense and Space Business unit.
Marion Van Fosson has been installed to this position and he will will serve as a member of EMS’s senior management team, reporting to John B. Mowell, executive director and chairman of the board. Most recently, Van Fosson led the Military Vehicle Systems business unit for BAE Systems, the world’s second-largest global defense company. As VP and general manager, he led the division as it doubled both sales and profits, growing the group to $150 million per year in sales. Van Fosson also enjoyed a long and distinguished career with the U.S. Army. He served as
program manager for Future Combat Systems for the U.S. Army and the Defense Advanced
Research Program Agency (DARPA), where he led the startup of a joint $60-billion program to build an optimized combat fighting system to replace three armored vehicles. As product manager for Force XXI Battle Command Brigade and Below, Van Fosson oversaw all software development for FBCB2, a situational awareness and command-and-control system used by U.S. and coalition
forces to allow warfighters to share critical information.
