Hughes... HX System To Handle Federation's Far Eastern Needs


SatNews: Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HUGHES) announced that Rostelecom, Russia’s largest international and long-distance operator, has purchased the Hughes HX System to provide a variety of broadband communications services in the Federation’s far east region. The HX System was selected as the ideal solution that satisfied Rostelecom’s requirements, in particular, for its flexibility in configuring oth multiple star and mesh networking topologies.

The comprehensive Hughes solution is comprised of an HX Gateway operating in Khabarovsk, with multiple remote HX200 broadband data routers for star applications and HX260 mesh routers for mixed voice and data services. Services include the provision of broadband satellite Internet access, high-speed data, videoconferencing, and telephony (PSTN) to government agencies, local authorities, corporations, and small and medium enterprises. The project was implemented with ARD-Satcom Service, a successful Russian system integrator, and the first that Hughes and ARD-Satcom Service have implemented together.
