You Are There — Almost — WorldView-2 Satellite Launch


WorldView2 Boeing The opportunity to experience a launch is now available. DigitalGlobe [NYSE: DGI], a provider of commercial high-resolution, world-imagery products and services for defense and intelligence, civil government, and commercial clients, today announced the date and time for the streaming of the WorldView-2 launch, the company’s third high-resolution, remote-sensing satellite from Vandenberg Air Force Base October 8.

The launch of WorldView-2 will make DigitalGlobe the only commercial world-imagery provider with high-resolution, eight-band multispectral capability. The additional multispectral band capability of WorldView-2 is expected to enable higher levels of feature identification and extraction and more accurately reflect the world’s natural color, with the potential to benefit many applications, including environmental monitoring, change detection, and defense and intelligence.
