Broadpoint, a U.S.-based telecommunications and network solutions company, has received a contract extension and additional sites to be deployed with Northstar Interests, LLC, an exploration and production company in the Gulf of Mexico. Broadpoint now provides voice, fax and internet services to Northstar’s newly-acquired offshore platforms, in addition to those previously serviced by Broadpoint.

With its previous communications providers, Northstar employees experienced frequent service interruptions to its home office in Houston, Texas. Broadpoint provided the company with a secure, reliable and cost effective solution that enhanced productivity and minimized downtime and expenses while working offshore. With Broadpoint’s SATCOM network, Northstar employees are able to hear a ringing phone from anywhere on the platform, which improves their productivity and eliminates a potential safety hazard when workers use to run to the office to answer the telephone.
