The IET seminar on Earth Observation Satellites will be conducted on November 30, 2009, at the Savoy Place in the United Kingdom. With initiatives such as Google Earth showing increased use among the home computer user, public awareness of, and interest in, the capabilities of Earth Observation satellites is increasing. What’s more, the industry is preparing to launch around 200 satellites by 2020 — more than double the total number of satellites launched over the previous decade. Consultants in this area predict this growth will be fuelled primarily by the private sector — so what’s happening right now?
