Push for Poland Pays — Now EUMETSAT Member State

Poland EUMETSAT was officially notified by the Depositary of the EUMETSAT Convention that Poland deposited its instrument of accession to the Convention on 30 June 2009.

This completes the procedures for Poland to become a EUMETSAT Member State. Poland is the sixth Cooperating State to become a full member, after Slovakia, Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary, and Latvia.

“I am pleased that Poland became a Member State on time to participate in the 67th EUMETSAT Council on 1 July,” said the EUMETSAT Director-General, Dr. Lars Prahm.

As a Member State, Poland will participate fully in EUMETSAT’s decision-making process and its industry will be able to bid for contracts, in addition to maintaining the unlimited access to all EUMETSAT data and products for official duty use it has enjoyed since becoming a Cooperating State. Poland will participate in all EUMETSAT mandatory programmes. With the accession of Poland, EUMETSAT now numbers 24 full Member States and six Cooperating States.
