Nera Telecommunications Ltd and Becker have signed a long-term teaming agreement. The companies are joining forces to integrate the umc.global network services into the Nera Telecommunications Ltd. communication solution portfolio to provide the best possible and broadest managed communication services for the Asian maritime community.

Nera Telecommunications Ltd. and its regional offices in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Taiwan, Vietnam, India, Australia, and China will be the first certified Business Partner of the umc.global network in the Asian Pacific region. The umc.global network is a turnkey managed service solution that seamlessly integrates the various communication services available, such as satellite services from Inmarsat, Iridium, Thuraya or Ku- and C-band VSAT at sea, 2GSM, 3GSM and high-speed wireless Internet access in ports and near shore, blending all into one transparent and secure global network for all ship to shore and shore to ship communication. Part of the agreement requires Nera Telecommunications Ltd. to support Becker Marine Systems Communication with deployment, service and maintenance of the umc.global network customers in all major Asian countries.
