[SatNews] This new agreement will find new satellite services delivery into the Ukraine...

Spacecom (Tel Aviv Stock Exchange: SCC), the operator of the AMOS satellite fleet, has signed an agreement with a European company to provide satellite services to a new DTH platform for the Ukrainian market under the Xtra TV brand. Spacecom’s AMOS-3 satellite at 4 degrees West will provide the services. The multi-year deal is valued up to $19 million.

Xtra TV, the new Ukrainian multi-channel platform, will broadcast nearly 100 channels (including Free to Air) to the market, which is one of the last major European countries without a large and successful DTH provider. Currently, AMOS’ Ukrainian TV neighborhood has close to 30 of the Ukraine’s most highly rated channels, among them: Inter, 1+1, ICTV, STB, New Channel, K1 and NTN, making AMOS a strong player in the local satellite market. The Xtra TV platform becomes the third European DTH service, and fourth overall, on the AMOS satellite fleet at the 4 degrees West orbital position. Other leading DTH services on the AMOS fleet include Hungary’s T-Home SatTV and Slovakia’s Magio TV, both part of Deutsche Telekom group, and Israel’s Yes.
