International Datacasting Corporation (TSX:IDC), a leader in digital content distribution solutions for the world's premiere broadcasters, has unveiled nexgen high frame rate 2D and 3D technologies for digital cinema distribution. The Superflex Pro Cinema Event Player (PCEP) is the latest offering in IDC's comprehensive end-to-end Pro Cinema solution. Capable of delivering high quality 2D or 3D images to digital cinema projectors, the Pro Cinema Event Player decodes high resolution, high frame rate video for unparalleled image quality.

This new technology delivers significant image quality improvements for live alternative content, enhancing the audience experience, and increasing consumer demand for watching sports, musical and theatrical events within cinemas. The Pro Cinema Event Player also reduces the cost for theatre owners wanting to distribute 2D and 3D live content to numerous screens within a multiplex. The state-of-the-art Pro Cinema Event Player will be unveiled at IBC 2011, IDC Booth 1C.29, September 9–13, 2011.

The Pro Cinema Event Player includes integrated SENSIO® Hi-Fi 3D technology. IDC is also introducing its digital cinema asset management platforms at IBC 2011. IDC's Distribution Manager has been developed to enable ingest, scheduling, and distribution of Digital Cinema Packages (DCPs) via satellite. The NOC Manager provides content management of DCPs on remote theatre Superflex receivers, including alarm notifications and reporting. International Datacasting is working with premiere customers including Deluxe/Echostar, Arqiva and Eutelsat in digital cinema content distribution worldwide, with more than 3,000 units shipped to date.
