Vocality Int'l... Getting Back To Router BASICS

[SatNews]: Vocality International has launched their BASICS IP Router. This device is a PC104 form factor unit, offering an upgrade route from legacy PC104 based routers to a single board router solution incorporating 2 routable IP ports, a four port switch with PoE (on a routable subnet), TCP acceleration, and satcom link optimization.

The router supports OSPF, RIP, DHCP, Spanning Tree, SSH, VLAN tagging and a wide range of router functionality. Julian Bashford, CEO, said, “BASICS IP is being positioned by Vocality as the new de facto, next generation solution for mobility routing within Defense applications and space and power restricted environments – ideal for integration into third party integrated defense communications kits. Vocality works with a wide number of tactical systems integrators worldwide, specializing in SATCOM and secure communications, where Vocality already has a strong presence.” Instead of using commercial components, BASICS IP is an industrial grade board, supporting operation in a wide temperature range environment. It is wrapped in an aluminum heat jacket, and delivered as an OEM kit for integration into tactical communications and networking kits, typically for tactical or mobility users.
