Two Wins For MDA With EADS Astrium + DigitalGlobe


MDA homepage graphic MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (TSX: MDA) has won a $4 million (CAD) contract to provide an advanced technology solution to EADS Astrium.

The solution will be integrated into the Astra 1N, a communications satellite which will mainly serve the German, French and Spanish markets, when launched in 2011. This award includes an additional proprietary solution allowing the capability of repositioning the technology over different locations on the Earth.

MDA has also been awarded a multi-million dollar contract from DigitalGlobe Inc. to provide a ground station solution to an international customer to enable support for the WorldView-1 and WorldView-2 satellites. This contract is the third international ground station order to-date that MDA has received from DigitalGlobe. MDA will provide a solution capable of programming, receiving and processing imagery from the WorldView satellites. As prime contractor, MDA is responsible for developing, integrating, and installing the WorldView-1 information solution at the customer’s site in mid 2009 and the WorldView-2 solution following launch of the satellite.
