Hughes do Brasil Celebrates New Broadband Capacity


Hughes brazil Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HUGHES) a broadband satellite networks and service provider announced that its Brazilian operating entity, Hughes do Brasil, will implement services on new Ku-band capacity on Intelsat's Galaxy-28 satellite to meet growing demand for its HughesNet broadband services across Latin America.

Delio Morais, president of Hughes do Brasil, "The Galaxy-28 satellite offers us strategic infrastructure, as it ensures that we will have the capacity necessary to keep pace with the growing demand for broadband services in Brasil and across this region."

With the capacity of the G-28 satellite, Hughes will intensify its efforts in the South American markets, offering its customers the company's comprehensive portfolio of HughesNet solutions and services, including backup of MPLS networks, managed corporate networks, distance learning networks, high-speed Internet access, and IPTV solutions.

Carmen Gonzalez-Sanfeliu, Intelsat's regional vice president, Latin America and the Caribbean, highlighted that, "The rate of adoption of more robust data services is accelerating rapidly throughout Latin America and Intelsat has been providing satellite capacity for Hughes since its entry into the provision of broadband satellite services in the region."
