[SatNews] Within the framework of the Information Affairs Authority (IAA)'s desire to develop radio and TV broadcasting...

W.L.L., Mr. Omar Shoter, an agreement to broadcast Bahrain TV Bouquet on the NOORSAT satellite starting this month. The IAA President affirmed that the agreement will help increase the number of viewers of Bahrain TV and also asserted that IAA will carry on implementing its plans and programs that will provide media services for viewers of the Bahrain TV bouquet using the latest technological innovations. Omar Shoter indicated that broadcasting the Bahrain TV bouquet on NOORSAT® satellites will double the number of its viewers.

NOORSAT ® Co. W.L.L. was established in Bahrain in December of 2004 as a private company to provide satellite space segments and operate satellite based communications infrastructure for the Arab world and neighboring countries. As the first fully privately owned satellite service provider in the MENA region, the NOORSAT satellite fleet is uniquely positioned to serve the growing demand in the broadcasting and telecommunications sectors.

NOORSAT ® provides ample capacity at the only hotspots serving the Arab World from the following satellites: NOORSAT 1 (EB2) at Badr Al Arab location 25.5 degrees East and NOORSAT 7 (AB7) at Badr Al Nile location 7 degrees West, presenting the opportunity to broadcasters to guarantee the instant reception of their TV and radio channels at all viewers" satellite dishes in the Arab World without the need for re-pointing or any modifications. In addition, NOORSAT has expanded its satellite capacities to include NOORSAT 3 (AB2) at 8 degrees West, NOORSAT 3C (E3C) at 3 degrees East, and NOORSAT 5 (IS15) at 85.15 degrees East, to cater for the increasing demand for various video and telecom services.

The number of channels hosted on the NOORSAT platform has grown in line with its strategy of continuous progress and rapid growth. Currently, NOORSAT satellites are transmitting more than 200 TV and radio channels that serve a broad audience of millions of viewers in East Asia, the Middle East, North Africa as well as parts of Europe.
