GCS... More Seats Added... (Geospatial Webinar)

[SatNews] Due to overwhelming demand, GCS has opened additional online seating for its first Geospatial Big Data webinar. The webinar will focus on “Building, Deploying and Managing Applications in the Cloud” and will feature the Montana Site Selector cloud-enabled GIS application.

“Geospatial organizations face unique technical challenges in deploying GIS applications in the cloud,” said GCS Founder and CEO Alex Philp, PhD. “Our first webinar will demonstrate how to cloud enable an application with minimal risk and maximum benefit to the enterprise and its stakeholders.”

To register for the first GCS Geospatial Big Data webinar, visit the new GCS website at www.YourDataSmarter.com. The free one-hour webinar will be broadcast live at 3:00 p.m. (U.S. Eastern Daylight Time) on Wednesday, June 12, 2013, and will include a Q&A session with the audience.

GCS will demonstrate how it built and deployed the web-based Montana Site Selector GIS application in the Microsoft Azure Cloud technology. This webinar will walk the audience through the development process and explain why deployment in the Azure Cloud means better application performance, never risking downtime from server crashes, and scaling to an unlimited number of users without slowing down the application. Attendees will learn to:

  • Develop a next-generation cloud-based GIS application in Microsoft Azure
  • Derive meaningful intelligence from multiple databases
  • Deliver business insights to personnel and the public
  • Streamline complex workflows

GCS will sponsor additional Geospatial Big Data webinars in the coming months focused on developing solutions to the unique big data challenges of GIS applications by leveraging location analytics, mobile platforms, and cloud technologies.
