Get More Than Clean In Bath — Attend EUMETSAT's Meteorological SatConference


Eumetsat Bath conference page On September 21 to 25, 2009, meteorologists, scientists, and researchers will meet in Bath, U.K., for the 2009 EUMETSAT Meteorological Satellite Conference. The conference is hosted and co-organised by the Met Office (UK). The theme of the conference is climate, one of the greatest challenges facing humankind. EUMETSAT, together with its international partners, such as the World Meteorological Organization, is leading the effort to define a comprehensive design for a space-based climate-monitoring system and related products. The conference will be attended by some 400 participants from 40 countries. The opening session on the first day of the conference will be addressed by Dr. Lars Prahm, Director-General of EUMETSAT, John Hirst, Chief Executive Officer of the Met Office, and Dr. David Wiliams, Director-General of the British National Space Centre. The first session will include presentations on future satellite programs in Europe, the United States, and China. Other sessions will cover climate monitoring, Nowcasting, atmospheric composition, land surface monitoring, Global Monitoring for Environment and Security (GMES), Numerical Weather Prediction applications, and hyperspectral sounding.
