Conference participants will speak about innovations in Earth remote sensing, will share experience in space image applications, including agricultural solutions and effective land management. Nowadays, satellite technology is in increasing demand by the agricultural industry. Satellite images serve a wide range of applications: agricultural lands inventory, fields cultivation and crops condition monitoring, yield forecasting, damage assessment as a result of natural disasters and loss events handling. RS data application ensures the following advantages:

• Possibility to accumulate statistic data and use it for yield forecasts and damage assessments

For example, in Kazakhstan, where agriculture is the most important national economic branch, first activities on arable lands monitoring from space were started in 1997. Later on, satellite-based monitoring experience of the main grain sowing regions of Kazakhstan proved to be very promising as one of the sources of unbiased information about agro-business parameters.

ScanEx Research & Development Center specialists combined the accumulated experience when organizing the “KosmosAgro” service, created to help the agricultural producers resolve tasks of effective land management. This service is the system of automated quality and quantity control of agricultural lands use. The service operation is based on application of e-maps, generated with the help of space monitoring data, cartographic materials, argo-chemical data, etc.

The 6th International Conference “Earth from Space – the Most Effective Solutions” will take place on October 1-3, 2013, at the Moscow Region “Vatutinki” resort hotel.
