[SatNews] On Call Communications has selected XipLink to provide acceleration and optimization for their QuickSPOT™ automated newsgathering system.
XipLink's unique, stream based, two-way compression and industry leading SCPS TCP Acceleration mitigates the effects of satellite latency, while increasing overall end customer application performance. On Call Communications will embed the XipLink optimization software directly into the QuickSPOT™ broadcast satellite system.
Integration of the XipLink Embedded (XE) solution will reduce box count and terminal weight, complementing a rapid set-up, simple to use and high performance news gathering package that takes advantage of both cellular and satellite services, allowing the delivery of live news from virtually anywhere.
"XipLink provides scalable and fully interoperable solutions between our appliance and embedded software solutions, which is especially valuable for state-of-the-art mobile devices such as the On Call Communications QuickSPOT™ system", reported Jack Waters, "This allows our customers to deploy a variety of physical solutions, be that an appliance, embedded device, or a virtual machine with full interoperability. Customers can start off small and grow their implementation as their business grows."
On Call Communications will be exhibiting at Excellence in Journalism, August 24-26, 2013, at the Anaheim Marriott, where they will be displaying their integrated satellite news-gathering (SNG) system.
