Applied Satellite Technology Ltd (AST), has today been appointed a launch Distribution Partner for Inmarsat’s new Global Satellite Phone Services (GSPS). IsatPhone Pro, a global handheld service and the first new product in the GSPS portfolio, is planned to go live at the end of Q2 2010.

AST has sold Inmarsat services since the early 90’s and has recently gained the accreditation of Distribution Partner for BGAN. This further appointment is a significant milestone for AST as it strengthens the relationship with Inmarsat and affirms AST’s status in the global satellite communications business. With the successful launch and subsequent repositioning of the new I-4 satellites, Inmarsat also offers a global broadband service with up to 384kbps using compact portable terminals.
