Hughes Network Systems, LLC (Hughes) has announced that Rick Lober, vice president and general manager of its Defense and Intelligence Systems Division, will speak at the 7th MILSATCOM Symposium in Los Angeles. Lober will participate on an “Industry Perspective” panel comprised of military and industry leaders, and discuss availability and benefits of commercial satellite communications (MILSATCOM) for the military. The panel will convene on Thursday, October 27, 2011, from 2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. in the Gordon Conference Center, Building 270, Los Angeles Air Force Base (AFB) Mr. Lober will provide insights into how the commercial satellite industry can help meet the needs of the military in the current austere budget environment by utilizing some of the latest technology advancements, such as bandwidth optimization solutions.
