digiGO! — The Digital (R)Evolution — Adtec signEdje Highly Suited For Syntus

Instore Broadcast, an official development partner of Adtec Digital, has deployed Adtec’s signEdje with GPS control for Syntus Public bus and rail onboard TV. The partnership of Instore Broadcast’s content management and distribution with Adtec’s hardware has created an elegant and reliable solution for information distribution into public spaces.

Adtec signEdge unit The mobile application developed is able to handle content for various routing schemes. This is one of the first installations of this kind in the area to be used as a general solution for public transportation. Instore Broadcast created software specifically for the Adtec signEdje — the software allows the management of the online creation of video clips for Syntus bus and rail. Using the templates created by Instore, Syntus can create eye catching bumpers and trailers using the motion graphics tool to customize their own message. In addition to creating and automating the content, Instore Broadcast is the service provider. The local TV broadcasters provide Instore a one minute newsflash for several regions that is uploaded to the software everyday for Syntus bus and rail.

Instore Broadcast chose Adtec’s signEdje due to the product's use of flash drive storage, unique footprint, and the GPS technology. The flash drive in the signEdje uses significantly less power, another determining factor in selecting the hardware for the system. The signEdje is a digital media player for AVC/H.264 and MPEG 2 high and SD file playback and IP stream decoding. Whatever the source, the signEdje can automatically scale the content to match the output target up to 1080i60 for HD playback. The signEdje can easily be configured using the included web based control application. The signEdje is available in configurations that support either live streaming or stored playback.
