Newtec has been shortlisted in two categories for this year’s Cable and Satellite International Awards — the Company's FlexACM® solution has been recognised in the “Best satellite contribution/distribution/transmission solution” category, and MENOS (Multimedia Exchange over Satellite), is a finalist in the “Best outside broadcast technology or service” category. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on Friday, September 11th, at
IBC2009 in Amsterdam.
FlexACM® is a solution that allows simple, yet very efficient, implementation of ACM (Adaptive Coding and Modulation) over satellite, in IP trunking and IP backbone systems, reducing cost, while improving customer satisfaction and ensuring 100
percent service reliability. FlexACM allows for the implementation of ACM in both point-to-point and point-to-multipoint configurations, for unidirectional as well as bidirectional links and typically provides 100 percent increase in throughput, while providing 100 percent link availability. MENOS is a fully IP based networking concept used to exchange multimedia content over satellite, allowing broadcasters to share video and audio material among scattered sites in a fully automated and cost efficient way. MENOS has also been shortlisted for the IBC2009 Innovation Awards. The CSI Awards are entering their fourth year and are one of the most comprehensive technology awards anywhere, designed to reward technical and product marketing excellence, with an emphasis on innovation.
