Avanti Avoids Acquisition Approach — At Least, For Now


HylasOne satellite + logos British satellite broadband operator Avanti Communications Group Plc (AVN.L) stated that on Tuesday, February 10th, the Company received an unsolicited preliminary offer approach for the company, but rejected the inquiry.
"The board of Avanti believes that the company has excellent prospects as an independent group," said an Avanti spokesperson. The Company plans to place the first European satellite, Hylas, into orbit by the close of this year. The satellite will offer Ka-band technology and will deliver broadband, data, SD and HD TV services across Europe.
