Globe Wireless and Intelsat have launched the GlobeSwift Mini-Ku VSAT service. The GlobeSwift Mini-Ku service uses a small, highly efficient 60cm Ku antenna to provide always on Internet service to yachts and commercial ships sailing in coastal U.S. and Caribbean waters.

The Mini-Ku service uses Intelsat satellites and earth stations. The GlobeSwift Mini-Ku service has recently completed beta testing aboard two Nekton dive charter vessels. The Nekton Rorqual and Nekton Pilot accommodate as many as 30 passengers for 7 to 10 day dive vacations. Globe Wireless will offer the Mini-Ku system to yachts as part of its GlobeSwift yacht product line. Additionally, the system is perfectly suited to commercial ships in coastal US trade, and also the oil and gas industry operating in the Gulf of Mexico.
