SatNews: THAICOM Public Company Limited (SET INDEX: THCOM) announced financial results for the first quarter of 2010 with revenues of Baht 1.78 billion bahtfrom the sale of services. Revenues on satellite services and the related business increased 10.8 percent and the Internet access and media services grew 55.8 percent compared to the same period last year.

Revenues from services of THAICOM 1A, 2, 5, satellites and related services were Baht 637 million baht, an increase of 8.3 percent from Baht 588 million in the first quarter of 2009. This was due mainly to the increase in transponder leasing services from the satellite television broadcasting business. Revenues derived from THAICOM 4 satellite services were reported as Baht 561 million, an increase of 13.8 percent over the same period last year. Revenues from bandwidth services increased 28.5 percent in accordance with the company strategy, which aims at increasing the bandwidth use by opening access of other systems and equipment manufacturers to work with the IPSTAR system.
