Bogus MILCOM 2009 Emails Alert!

From AFCEA International comes the following warning regarding some fraudulent emails being sent by unauthorized parties who pretend to represent the MILCOM 2009 Conference that'll be held later this year in Boston.

The MILCOM 2009 team's alert is as follows...

Please be aware that there have been reports that non-authorized parties are sending fraudulent email to the MILCOM community pretending to represent this year’s conference in Boston. These emails include a bogus website address ending in ".zip" and entice recipients to click on the link for "the latest important news about MILCOM 2009." The link very likely leads to malware or a virus. This email did not originate from, nor was it approved by, anyone from the MILCOM conference. Be aware that these emails may falsely appear to come from familiar organizations, including MILCOM, or individuals associated with the conference. As a safety precaution, you are cautioned to not follow ANY links in email. Instead, we encourage you to access pertinent links and information about MILCOM 2009 directly from the website. Thank you, and hope to see you in Boston.
