CSM has recently announced that more than 120 companies have launched over 200 CMMB devices and Nagravision is on schedule to complete integration with more than 150 devices by the first quarter of 2009. Nagravision is integrating conditional access into devices such as mobile phones, pocket TVs and PC dongles. The company will also provide integration for platforms, reference designs and application processors in order to increase the number of secure devices available and to accelerate the adoption of conditional access. Nagravision has delivered 500 thousand secure chips to date and is preparing to deliver over four million secure chips in 2009.
"The CMMB service will contribute to developing mobile TV services in other parts of the world, because it proves the business case, boosts the development of the ecosystem and reduces device prices on items such as mobile TV handsets, portable media players, and PC dongles. It will also help boost the availability and price affordability of mobile TV consumer electronic devices around the world for all radio standards," said Jean-Luc Jezouin, Senior Vice-President Product Line Management Digital TV for Nagravision.
