Triveni Digital is going to participate in the ATSC Mobile DTV Pavilion at the 2009 NAB Show, demo'ing a new GuideBuilder™ software extension that offers broadcasters terrestrial and mobile DTV functionality in a single platform that relies on a facility’s established workflow.

The company’s new mobile metadata software extension integrates metadata management and generation for mobile DTV directly into the GuideBuilder PSIP system, providing broadcasters with a cost-effective means of introducing mobile services from their existing broadcast infrastructures. The GuideBuilder system provides mission-critical operational capabilities for content providers and network operators by generating accurate metadata, the foundation for ATSC digital television transport streams, whether broadcast for television sets or mobile devices. Fully automated redundancy, support for centralized PSIP generation, and tight integration with multiplexers, traffic systems, and automation systems make it easy to incorporate GuideBuilder into existing broadcast infrastructures. The new software extension being highlighted at the NAB Show enables transmission of metadata to mobile ATSC receivers and, in turn, allows users to select and change viewing channels. In addition to supplying information about current show, duration, rating, and other characteristics, the mobile DTV enhancements to GuideBuilder also support the delivery and display of parental control data.
