Globaltouch West Africa homepage Globalstar, Inc. (Nasdaq:GSAT) has installed a simplex data applique at its new gateway ground station in Nigeria. The applique installation completes construction of the gateway which will provide Globalstar satellite coverage to Nigeria, the surrounding portions of Western and Central Africa, as well as parts of the coastal Atlantic and Gulf of Guinea maritime region.

Globalstar independent service provider Globaltouch (West Africa) Limited (GWAL) based in Lagos, Nigeria will operate the gateway located in Kaduna. Starting this week, GWAL expects to initially offer Globalstar Simplex data solutions for a variety of logistics, supply chain management, government asset tracking applications plus SPOT Satellite GPS Messenger™ tracking and messaging products and services for both enterprise and consumer applications. GWAL plans to offer Globalstar's entire suite of current and nexgen advanced satellite voice and duplex-data solutions following the launch of the Globalstar 2G constellation, which is expected to begin next year. With the new gateway, Globalstar and GWAL provide expanded continuous satellite coverage from Europe southward to most of Angola, west to the Atlantic coast maritime region and east to Sudan.
