Oil & Gas Communications South East Asia 2010: ‘Redefining the Digital Oilfield Onshore, Offshore, Deep & Ultra-Deepwater’ (O&GCSEA2010) brings the GVF & EMP Oil & Gas Communications Series to its landmark 10th event and also the third annual conference in the series for the South East Asia region. Over two days, O&GCSEA2010 will examine a combination of satellite-based communications, and integrated satellite-terrestrial hybrid communications solutions, to which the oil & gas industry upstream and downstream segments turn to play a vital role in providing the essential connectivity and access to vital networking applications.
The conference will take occur at the Crowne Plaza Mutiara Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, over the 23rd and 24th of November and will feature an extensive dialogue around key issues on the current regional oil & gas upstream exploration and production (E&P) – and downstream refining and distribution – communications and applications networking agenda. This will include a number of new topic areas brought to the top of the energy industry agenda by recent events in various parts of the global ‘oil & gas patch’, and in the wider international economy. These additions to the list of applications and connectivity imperatives to be featured on the conference agenda will feature the ICT aspects of:
- Safety systems provision on oil & gas installations at sea
- Pollution prevention and oil spill control from offshore infrastructure
- Implications for E&P ICT in certain regions of the oil & gas patch arising from deep-water drilling moratoria in other hydrocarbon extraction ocean regions
- The enhanced application of satellite-based security provisions related to the use of ‘Cloud’-based data traffic networking
