...set for Thursday, January 19th, from Space Launch Complex 37 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida. The launch window opens at 7:30 p.m. EST and extends until 9:11 p.m. The launch may be viewed via the SES-2 satellite on Transponder 21, C-band analog, 4210 MHz vertical downlink frequency.

ULA is part of the WGS-4 mission with the U.S. Air Force Space Command’s Space and Missile Systems Center (AFSPC/SMC). The WGS-4 mission marks the 18th Delta IV launch and the second launch of the Delta IV Medium+ (5,4) launch vehicle configuration. The WGS mission is the fourth installment of the Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) system.

The WGS satellites are an important element of a new highcapacity satellite communications system providing enhanced communications capabilities to our troops in the field for the next decade and beyond. WGS enables more robust and flexible execution of Command and Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4lSR), as well as battle management and combat support information functions. WGS-4 augments the existing service available through the UHF Follow-on, WGS-1, WGS-2 and WGS-3 satellites by providing enhanced information broadcast capabilities. The ULA team is focused on attaining Perfect Product Delivery for the WGS-4 mission.
