Packet Ship, a provider of software technologies for video-based services and solutions, will use the IP&TV World Forum exhibition in London to launch the latest release of the company's platform of software components, including a new video server platform, catch-up TV recorder, asset management and content distribution infrastructure. The new Antigua release of the well-established Packet Ship Streamline video server offers higher performance on commodity hardware and now supports Over the Top (OTT) streaming protocols for the public Internet, such as RTSP/TCP and Apple's HTTP Live Streaming for iPhones and iPads, as well as the traditional RTSP/UDP streaming used in managed networks. The company is also announcing a new product, Timeline IPTV recorder, which provides continuous recording of broadcast IPTV channels and associated EPG data, enabling new services such as catch-up TV, retrospective EPG and pause/rewind of live TV, fully integrated with the Streamline video server. Packet Ship specializes in licensing Linux-based software components for video applications to OEM hardware manufacturers, vertical market systems integrators and service operators to integrate into their own solutions and services. The company supplies many of the European market leaders in IPTV, hospitality and healthcare. Packet Ship is exhibiting at stand 109 at the IP&TV World Forum at Olympia, London, March 22 thru 24, 2011, where the company will be demonstrating full multi-screen VOD and catch-up TV services delivered to set-top box, iPad and PC.
- TeamCast has introduced Syper, its DVB-S/S2 demodulator optimized for satellite distribution. Syper is the latest generation of satellite demodulator, fully compliant with DVB-S and DVB-S2 standards. Compatible with CCM (Constant Coding & Modulation), VCM (Variable Coding & Modulation) and ACM (
- Adaptive Coding & Modulation ) modes, Syper can demodulate all constellations (QPSK, 8PSK, 16 & 32 APSK) with bitrates up to 170 Mbits/s. Furthermore, Syper is multi-stream compliant and, thanks to its five ASI outputs, can output five different transport stream at the same time, from one satellite transponder. Syper is the ideal solution for building any distribution network via satellite. Also debuting from the Company is Vyper, its new DVB-S/S2 modulator focused on satellite transmissions for Contribution, Distribution and DTH applications. DVB-S2 is the second generation satellite delivery system that builds on DVB-S, using the latest modulation and coding techniques to deliver superior performance and improved payload bit rates. Vyper is a state of the art DVB-S/S2 modulator ideal for all satellite transmission applications. Small, compact and powerful, Vyper is fully compliant to the EN302307 standard, meaning it integrates Constant Coding, Variable Coding and Adaptive Coding and Modulation modes (CCM, VCM & ACM), as well as QPSK, 8PSK, 16 & 32 APSK constellations, ensuring a useful bit rate up to 45 Mbauds. Equipped with ASI & IP input capabilities and an agile & high quality RF output, Vyper is the versatile solution for any system integration.
