DigitalGlobe (NYSE: DGI) welcomes Mr. Alden Munson Jr. and Mr. James Whitehurst to the DigitalGlobe board of directors. Mr.
Munson and Mr.
Whitehurst join Mr.
Nick Cyprus, appointed June 25, 2009, as independent directors on the
DigitalGlobe board. Mr. Munson is a senior fellow at the
Potomac Institute for Policy Studies. Most recently, he served in the U.S. Intelligence Community, where he was the deputy director of national intelligence for acquisition. Previously, Mr. Munson was associated with the investment banking firm
Windsor Group and served as a consultant to government and industry on defense, space, and intelligence matters. Earlier, he served in senior leadership positions at
TRW and
Litton Corp, both now part of
Northrop Grumman. Mr. Munson received the
National Intelligence Distinguished Service Medal in 2009. Mr. Whitehurst currently serves as president and chief executive officer of
Red Hat (NYSE:RHT), the maker of
Linux and other enterprise software, a position he has held since January 2008. He previously served as chief operating officer and chief network and planning officer for
Delta Air Lines. Prior to joining Delta in 2002, Mr. Whitehurst was a partner and managing director at the
Boston Consulting Group. Mr.
Cyprus currently serves as vice president, controller, and chief accounting officer for
General Motors Company. Mr. Cyprus previously served as senior vice president, controller, and chief accounting officer of
Interpublic Group of Companies from May 2004 until March 2006. Prior to joining Interpublic Group, Mr. Cyprus served as vice president, controller and chief accounting officer of
AT&T.
