Kratos Defense & Security... Moving On Up... (Business)


[SatNews] Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq:KTOS) has announced that Marion Van Fosson has joined the company...

...to lead its CVG-Avtec subsidiary. Mr. Van Fosson has had a distinguished career as an executive in the satellite industry and as a U.S. Army officer. As Vice President and General Manager, Mr. Van Fosson will be responsible for managing all aspects of CVG-Avtec's operations. Based in Chantilly, Virginia, CVG-Avtec provides fixed and tactically deployable solutions that support both the uplink and downlink sides of satellite communications. CVG-Avtec's products include a diverse array of tactical baseband terminals, antennas, satellite modems, telemetry equipment and components such as BUCs and SSPAs. Services include bandwidth provisioning, installation and network operations support, and customized engineering solutions.

Prir to joining Kratos, Mr. Van Fosson was Vice President and General Manager of EMS Defense & Space, a developer of highly engineered microwave systems for commercial and military communications, surveillance and electronic countermeasures. Prior to that role he served as Vice President and General Manager of the Military Vehicle Systems business unit of BAE Systems, and before that as President of Litton Electro-Optical Systems.

Mr. Van Fosson served 22 years in the United States Army, retiring as a Colonel. During his military career, he was program manager for Future Combat Systems for the U.S. Army and the Defense Advanced Research Program Agency. He holds a Master of Science in Physics from Carnegie Mellon University and was a former researcher and faculty member in the Department of Physics at the United States Military Academy at West Point.
